DOWNTOWN DUNCAN ROLLS OUT NEW BRAND…IN A BIG WAY

Duncan, BC…

Media event:

July 12, 2016

11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

City Square Stage, 200 Craig Street

If you’ve driven through Duncan on your way up or down the Island recently, you may have noticed something a little different about the way the City is presenting itself. No longer just the highway pit stop on your way north or south, Duncan wants you to know that it is so much more than what you see from the highway and that it might be small but in a BIG, BIG way.

New billboards and highway directional signs went up last week, telling people (in some cases quite literally) to get off the highway and see what the rest of Duncan has to offer. Later this week, new street banners will be installed.

Working with Victoria-based Hot House Marketing, the City and the Downtown Duncan Business Improvement Area (DDBIA) agreed it was time to refresh the City’s image and direct drivers downtown to the “big” things that can be found just off the highway.

Known for years as the “City of Totems” - with Canada’s largest collections of outdoor totems, and the largest Farmer’s Market on Vancouver Island - the City’s renewed partnership with the DDBIA further showcases the growing vibrancy of the downtown.

“Downtown is energetic and growing with over 300 independent shops and services. You will not want to miss this event and the chance to hear more about the big things to come,” said Jean Cardno, DDBIA marketing chair and owner of Cardino’s Shoes.

Downtown Duncan will celebrate its new brand during an official event on July 12th. Join City officials, members of the DDBIA, and Dan Dagg, President of Hot House Marketing, for details and a peek at some unseen aspects of the new look as well as BIG cookies and GIGANTICALLY delicious coffee.
